Canceled: Yoga in the Gardens

Update 9/11/2020: Due to the recent uptick of postive COVID cases, the University is limiting in-person activities and interactions until Monday, Sept. 28.

Join us for a special yoga class offered outdoors at our NIU Communiversity Gardens. Outdoor classes add a different dimension to one’s practice and help bring yoga back to its original connection with nature. Yoga means “union.” When practiced outside, the union with nature, humankind and the Earth can be truly felt.

Thursday, Sept. 17, 4 to 5 p.m.
Meet at the NIU Communiversity Gardens located on the east side of Anderson Hall.

Enjoy a tour of the garden and find out more about the Communiversity Gardens apprenticeship program and volunteer opportunities.

The event is free, but we are accepting donations to help support the gardens operations at

Please register ahead of time so we know that you are coming and please bring your own yoga mats, blanket or towel. Reach out to with any questions.

Thursday, September 17 at 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
