World's Record Paper Snowflake Event
As part of its exhibition in NIU's Founders Memorial Library from March 20 - April 10, an event will be held on Thursday, March 23 featuring:
- Create your own paper snowflake workshop
- Have your picture taken with the world's largest paper snowflkae
- Science talk with Joseph O’Brien, atmospheric science software specialist at Argonne National Laboratory’s Environmental Science Division and Victor Gensini, NIU associate professor of earth, atmosphere and the environment
- Artist talk with Jessica Labatte, associate professor and head of the photography department in the NIU School of Art and Design and NIU photography students
- Time lapse video of the creation of the record snowflake
- Real time snowfall counts from Science on a Sphere
- NIU student snowflake designs
