Wednesday, March 27, 2024 11 AM to 1:30 PM
About this Event
600 Lucinda Ave, DeKalb, IL 60115
#TDOVNIU24Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an annual celebratory event where communities from across the globe come together to honor transgender, genderqueer, and non-binary individuals with the ultimate goal of raising awareness and moving towards Trans justice.
Centering these voices and lived experiences at Northern Illinois University, the Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality and Gender and Sexuality Resource Center will host "Taking and Making Space," for the campus community to gather and consider what space and Trans experiences at NIU is and could be.
We will write letters of affirmation and support of Trans love--to ourselves, as allies, and as members of the Huskie community.
We will have an opportunity for stretching, movement, and mindfulness, kindly speaking toward embodiment of Trans experience.
Affirming faculty and staff will be in community to celebrate the visibility and importance of the spaces Trans Huskies belong--everywhere!
Food will be served. Participants are encouraged to attend as their schedules allow.
