Dive into the world of tinkering! You’ll get your hands dirty with DIY projects and creative inventions. From building simple machines to crafting innovative solutions to everyday problems, our tinkering sessions encourage out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving skills.  

By implementing the design cycle, you’ll observe, evaluate and work to solve a unique problem. You’ll collaborate and apply critical thinking skills as you ask questions and reverse engineer an existing gadget. First you’ll define a clear plan to improve upon or recreate the existing gadget. Then you’ll apply your inventive solutions in methodical, practical and aesthetic ways. You’ll also discuss your process and creations in a collective reflection session at the end of camp.

Participant Grades: entering grades 6-9
