What’s the difference between performance measurement and performance management? Why are these terms often confused for one another, and how are they related? We’ll review the key elements of effective performance measurement and performance management systems in a public organization and discuss how to make measurements more meaningful and useful.
Although performance feedback and measurement may seem intimidating, it can provide valuable information about program effectiveness, outcomes and resource needs. Establishing a system of performance measures for people and programs will help build communications, accountability and decision-making in your organization. However, there are some necessary basics to learn. This session will introduce fundamental approaches and examples of both performance measurement and management.
