The Diversity Ball
The Diversity ball is a an open formal ball to celebrate the immense amount of ethnic groups and cultural organizations on our campus. An exquisite gala in which multicultural organizations mingle to celebrate each other in formal attire while exploring vastly different cultural dishes. The date is set for Wednesday November 6th from 6-9 pm with most proceeds going to the NIU food pantry. For the night we will be serving an extraordinary and delicious menu of 10 very diverse hors d'oeuvres catered by NIU's head chefs and to be accompanied by:
A Solo steel pan performance (steel-pan itself is the national instrument of Trinidad & Tobago) for the evening accompanied by background tracks. The performance will feature various styles of music such as calypso, soca, reggae, jazz
A Cello/ Piano Duet cultural performance
A Salsa/ Bachata lesson for everyone
More music/ performances to be announced later this month
The biggest names in Diversity and Leadership will be attending including the Directors of every cultural buidling and the President of NIU.
Tickets for a small fee to assure attendance and create an accurate headcount for catering will be availble soon!
