The Supreme Court of Illinois will hear two oral arguments at Northern Illinois University. This event is open to the public. Doors open at 9 a.m. and guests are asked to arrive by 9:30 a.m. for opening remarks. Oral arguments begin at 10 a.m. No back packs, food or drinks. Proper courtroom decorum is required.

The Supreme Court of Illinois is the state’s highest court and its final court of review over decisions of the circuit and appellate courts. In recent years, the Supreme Court has held oral arguments in locations other than Springfield to raise awareness of the judicial branch and of the important role the court system has in interpreting state laws.
