University Writing Center's Summer Writing and Research Program

We know that completing your thesis/dissertation/research is a high priority for you.

The UWC’s eight-week Summer Writing and Research Program will help you fulfill that goal. Available both in person (FML 260) and online through Microsoft Teams, the program will encourage research and writing by providing structured worktime, goal-setting and accountability measures, resources, and general support during this potentially isolating and overwhelming process. Specifically, it offers

  • Work Sessions: 5+ hours of work time (group and individual) 4 days a week
  • Group Meetings and Daily Logs: for setting goals and tracking progress
  • Brownbags: 30-minute presentations on graduate work and writing at NIU (recorded)
  • Resources and Writing Support

The program will meet June 12 through Aug. 5, 2022.  The sessions will be held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 to 10 a.m. More information about the sessions is available by viewing this flyer.

Registration for each day is required and to be completed through the UWC website.

More information about the program and sessions is available by visiting the Writing Center's website.
