Student Leadership Inclusivity Training Session

We are inviting Vivian Seki, Braille and Adapted Materials Coordinator, and Teresa Fabre Lopez, an NIU student to our next Huskie Food Pantry Leadership session on Friday, November 12, from 11 a.m. – 11:30a.m. The training will focus on creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for students who are blind or visually impaired.

Teresa is an NIU student who lost her sight a few years ago. She is going to talk about her experiences and the process she has gone through in adjusting to having no sight. She will address some thoughts on how best to interact with students who are blind or visually impaired.

Vivian is the Braille and Adapted Materials Coordinator with the Disability Resource Center. She will talk about her work and tools that are available to adapt one’s surroundings, making it more accessible for students who are visually impaired.
