Physical therapists have a unique role to play in helping to promote public health and reverse the trend toward chronic illness. Chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease are becoming more and more common, even among younger people. However, lifestyle changes — especially increased movement — help to prevent and manage these illnesses.
