STEAM Studio - Make Your Art Move

Take your artwork to a new level by adding movement. In this at-home workshop, learn how to use cams, levers, the wind and your own muscle power to bring your artwork to life. All techniques used will be mechanical. Enhance your skills as you get feedback from instructors and other participants. Your art will be displayed in a video gallery at the end of the session.

For grades 3-5

Make Your Art Move consists of three 2-week sessions. Cost: $39 per session. 

Make Your Art Move 2: Automata Design

Session: Fall B, November 16-Dececember 4

Days/Times: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Cost: $39.00

In Make Your Art Move 2, use what you learned in Make Your Art Move 1 to design and prototype a cardboard automaton. Explore how different mechanisms such as cams and slides can bring your art to life. 

Make Your Art Move 3: Automata Design

Session: C, December 7-18

Days/Times: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Cost: $39.00

In Make Your Art Move 3, use different construction techniques to build a automaton based on your design and prototype from Make Your Art Move 2. Share your final product and your process with your peers.
