Register Today! New Class in Computational Thinking (CT)
Friday, September 16, 2022 6 PM to 8:40 PM
About this Event
Two exciting opportunities exist at NIU this fall if you are interested in learning more about computational thinking (CT) and how to use educational robotics to teach children.
ETT 592-F0Y1 Special Topics in Instructional Technology (1 credit)
This online course will meet synchronously Friday evenings from 6 to 8:40 p.m.
9/16/22 – 12/10/22
Students will acquire understandings of, and competencies in, computational thinking, and in guiding and supporting elementary school children in activities centered on learning CT in informal settings. The course will involve teaching of CT as well as frameworks for effective parental support; practical activities using educational robotics will be a strong component of the course.
ETT 592-0Y01 Educational Robotics and Informal Learning (3 credits)
This hybrid course will meet synchronously online Friday evenings from 6 to 8:40 p.m. and in-person Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday classes will be in Gabel Hall 212 on campus in DeKalb.
