Reclaiming Our Stories

The theme for Black Heritage Month is the Black Resistance. Discussion about this topic often centers only about the Civil Rights Movement and the same 2 or 3 leaders. But there is a lot more to it than that. Resistances took place on college campuses, they take place in the media, are intersectional in nature, include athletes and often those who you would not expect. Telling our story and reclaiming it is a key part of widening the narrative. Our panelists will be discussing this topic and afterward we will be doing an activity focused on reclaiming your own story.
