All are invited to join the NIU College of Law for its next Race and the Law Conversation on “Environmental Racism: Legal Challenges and Advocacy in the U.S.” with expert attorney Melissa Sims (’95). SIms was recently named among Time's 100 Most Influential Climate Leaders in Business for 2023. She is representing 16 Puerto Rican municipalities in a groundbreaking class-action lawsuit aimed at holding the fossil fuel industry responsible for damage caused by extreme weather. NIU Law Professor Sarah Fox will moderate. This program was approved for one hour of PMCLE (diversity and inclusion) for Illinois attorneys.
