Please join us for a conversation with Dr. Catherine Nichols, author of Exchanging Objects: Nineteenth-Century Museum Anthropology at the Smithsonian Institution. Dr. Nichols will discuss her research methods, findings, and their impact on the museum field.

Dr. Nichols is a Sr. Lecturer in Cultural Anthropology and Museum Studies at Loyola University, as well as the Director, May Weber Ethnographic Study Collection. She works across cultural and museum anthropology, material culture and museum studies, and the history of science and anthropology, to examine the exchange of anthropological objects by museums in the late nineteenth century, particularly by the Smithsonian Institution and Field Museum.
