Pros at the Pick: Kaoru Watanabe (National Cambodian Heritage Museum)
Join the Pick Museum of Anthropology for Pros at the Pick! If you are interested in museum careers or ever wondered what it is like to work in cultural institutions, Pros at the Pick is a space to make connections and gain insight about what really goes on in museums.
Since 2008, Kaoru Watanabe has worked at the National Cambodian Heritage Museum & Killing Fields Memorial and at the Cambodian Association of Illinois, where she was able to integrate her holistic approach to health; knowledge of intergenerational transmission of culture, history, and trauma through everyday practices; and strong belief in the power of the arts in healing. She was part of the project that developed the museum’s permanent exhibition, Remembering the Killing Fields.
Bagels and Coffee will be provided!
