Special event planning and delivery can be highly rewarding but requires significant administrative considerations and timely planning demands. Does your organization have a history of leading public event planning for celebrations, or have you recently been asked to plan public events? Does your organization partner with community organizations to hold special events in public spaces? Whether you are leading the planning or partnering with a community organization, careful consideration is needed to ensure a successful event. This session will examine four key areas of consideration for events that take place in public spaces: planning, partnerships, logistics and risk management. An experienced panel, including local government staff from street operations, law enforcement and city administration, will discuss the realities of event planning along with tips and considerations.
