Maria del Camino Lora, better known as Mino, was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and immigrated to the U.S. at 19. Mino is the founder of the People's Theatre Project as well as an activist, an artist and an educator. The challenges her community is experiencing have compelled her to take action and run for office. Mino is running for NY City Council to represent District 11 in the Bronx. Mino is pushing for economic justice, education justice, racial justice, housing justice, and to reduce the inequalities in her city.
