Outdoor Adventures: Washington Summer Adventure Info Meeting
Monday, April 17, 2023 8 PM to 8:30 PM
About this Event
Travel with us on this two-week adventure via train to backpack and explore all the biomes of Olympic National Park. Covering nearly one million acres in the Pacific Northwest, highlights of this park include the rugged peaks of the Olympic Mountains, incredible old-growth rain forests and a scenic coastline full of unique beaches.
Our trip begins with two days crossing the country on an Amtrak from Chicago to Olympia-Lacey. We will rent a van and travel to the park. The first night we will prepare for our four-day backpacking trip in the Enchanted Valley. Then we will continue to explore the northwest part of the park as well as along the Pacific coast before we catch the train home.
The registration fee includes all food, transportation, equipment, leadership and all camping permits, and park fees for an incredible value. All ages welcome. Those under 16 require a parent/guardian over the age of 18 to attend.
Trip Dates: Monday, July 24 to Sunday, Aug. 6.
Registration cost/deadline: NIU student: $1,500; non-student: $1,750.
Register for this awesome adventure.
A $500 deposit is required to reserve your spot. The remaining balance is due July 1.
