Outdoor Adventures: Hourly Lagoon Boat Rentals

Get out and enjoy on-site, hourly rentals at the East Lagoon Wednesdays throughout the semester. It's an easy process — just sign up for a rental time starting on the hour and select a canoe, single or double kayak, or a stand-up paddleboard.   

Arrive at the East Lagoon during your selected time slot and enjoy your paddle. We have all the boats, paddles and PFDs at the lagoon waiting for you. 

All ages welcome. We have child-size PFDs and paddles available. Participants 17-years-old and younger require parental signature on the liability form at time of registration. Participants 12-years-old and younger require supervision on shore or accompanying on the water.  

Be sure to arrive before your reservation. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the hour, your spot may be given to a walk-up.  

Date and time(s): Wednesdays, Aug. 24 to Oct. 26 — Choose 4 or 5 p.m. 

Boat Rentals: NIU students: $5; nonstudents: $10.  

Online advance registration is open for boat rentals.  

Walk-up sign-ups and cash payment is welcome if equipment is available.
