We're offering our on-site, hourly rentals at the East Lagoon on Wednesdays through the summer. It's an easy process — just sign up for a rental time starting on the hour and select a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard.   

Arrive at the East Lagoon during your selected time slot and enjoy your paddle. First time? Staff are there to give you instruction and help you in and out of the boat safely. We have all the boats, paddles and PFDs at the lagoon waiting for you. 

All ages welcome. We have child-size PFDs and paddles available for use. Anyone 16 years old and younger require parental signature on the liability form at time of registration. Those 12 and younger require supervision on shore or accompanying on the water.  

Be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes before your reservation. If you arrive more than five minutes after the hour, your spot may be given to a walk-up. 

Date and time(s): 4 or 5 p.m. Wednesdays, June 8 through August 3. 

Boat Rentals: NIU student: $5; nonstudent: $10.  

Students: If you are not in classes this summer, please use the promo code LAGOON to be charged accordingly.

Online advance registration is open for boat rentals.  

Walk-up sign-ups, including cash payments, are welcome if equipment is available.
