Online STEAM Camp: STEM Read Presents Science + Fiction Camp

Get ready to follow your curiosity and science-up your fiction. Participate in hands-on STEM activities, meet STEM and writing experts, hear about their work and then use what you’ve learned to create your own sci fi story. Pick the brains of working professionals and hear about their careers in small group sessions. Network with other teens who share your passion.

The goal of this intensive experience is to celebrate creativity in many forms and to guide you through creating a complete, polished, speculative fiction short story. Work on establishing good writing routines as you research, plan, draft, edit, share and finalize your work. If you want to get serious about STEM and storytelling while having some serious fun, this is the summer experience for you!

This camp will have live online meetings from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday over two weeks, along with projects that will require 4-6 hours per week of time spent outside of class meetings. This camp is recommended for students entering grades 9-12.
