The first in a four-part series on learning outcomes assessment, this workshop is an introduction to program level assessment and student learning outcomes. Learning outcomes play a vital role in program level assessment by providing the foundation for useful and actionable learning outcomes assessment. Participants will learn to do the following: 

  • Explain what program learning outcomes assessment is and why we do it
  • Write a student learning outcome that is SMART
  • Discuss how student learning outcomes can be useful
