NIU Foundation Thousands Strong Celebration

In celebration of our impact, Huskies around the world are invited to participate in the NIU Foundation “Thousands Strong” virtual events, Nov. 18-20. 

Wednesday, Nov. 18 – Opening Night 
Tune into YouTube Live at 7 p.m. for a special 30-minute tribute to Northern Illinois University and the Huskie family, featuring NIU President Lisa C. Freeman, special celebrity guest Joe Minoso, M.F.A. '04, of NBC TV's Chicago Fire, and an All-Star cast of Huskie scholarship recipients.

Nov. 18-19 – Day of Giving
The Day of Giving kicks off immediately following the conclusion of Opening Night and finishes on Thursday. This will be an opportunity for the NIU community to come together and show their Huskie Pride by supporting NIU students, scholarships and programs.

Nov. 20 – "Thousands Strong" Premiere Video 
On Nov. 20, the NIU Alumni Association will select video submissions to include in a special “Thousands Strong” highlight reel on its social media pages, which will also include some exciting celebrity messages.
