There will be a total lunar eclipse coming this March 3rd, and the NIU Observatory will again be hosting special public hours for those who wish to come up and see it up close. The observatory will open at 2:30 am and the visible eclipse will begin just before 4am, with totality occuring from around 5 to 6am. Then the still partially eclipsed moon will set just as the sun is rising about 6:30am. It should be an absolutely beautiful way to start the morning! See you up there!
