We are excited to invite you to participate in NIU Cares Day, our annual day of service during which Huskies come together to give back to our community. The deadline to register is March 21, so don’t miss this chance to be part of something special. 

This year's event takes place April 4, and we would love for you to join us in making a positive impact! The event kickoff runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Duke Ellington Ballroom at the Holmes Student Center. Work at community service sites will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Register as an individual, with your student organization or as a department team.

What is NIU Cares Day? 
NIU Cares Day is a cherished tradition at Northern Illinois University, uniting students, student organizations, faculty and staff in service projects throughout the community. It's an opportunity to make a difference while building connections and embodying the spirit of Huskie pride. Volunteers engage in a variety of projects, such as: 

• Assisting local nonprofits and community organizations.
• Cleaning up parks and public spaces.
• Supporting neighborhood beautification efforts.
• Helping with special community initiatives. 

Whether you’re passionate about service, looking to meet new people or simply want to give back, NIU Cares Day of Service offers a rewarding and memorable experience for all involved.
