Civic learning is an important component of higher education. Local, regional, and national civics impact citizens’ lives, so integrating civic learning in the college classroom can assist student citizens in exploring how these different levels of civics are interconnected and integral to a healthy democracy and why they are meaningful to students’ lives. In this workshop, you will be introduced to some strategies for integrating civic learning into your courses in relevant and meaningful ways. Some strategies discussed may include classroom instruction in civics, service learning, experiential learning, models and simulations of democratic processes, guided classroom discussion of topical issues, and participation in school governance. Advance registration is required. Register Now!
