Models of Online InstructionEvery face-to-face course is different. Some courses rely on lectures while others are more discussion-based. Students may work independently or collaboratively. Some courses even include components outside of the classroom, like service work, internships, and practicums, that allow students to learn from experience. Online courses can be diverse in the same way. There is a common perception that online courses are static and boring, but most of the techniques used in face-to-face classrooms can be adapted to make online courses exciting and engaging. In this online workshop, you will learn about different ways to structure an online course and how online technology can support different models of online instruction.
