Mandatory Title IX/Sexual Misconduct and Affirmative Action training for new employees
Affirmative Action and Equity Compliance (AAEC) provides Non-Discrimination/Harassment and Title IX/Sexual Misconduct related training to all faculty, staff and students. These trainings are mandatory for all new employees at Northern Illinois University, but we encourage a refresher course for all faculty, staff and students at least annually.
Affirmative Action: what makes up a person’s culture? Why do we sometimes pretend that cultures, differences and discrimination don’t exist? In this session, participants will learn practical information about culture and discrimination to help encourage relationship building, valuing differences and building a community and culture of non-discrimination.
Title IX/Sexual Misconduct: ever wonder what Title IX is really all about and who it affects? Did you know most NIU employees are responsible for reporting Title IX incidents? Learn how to be a responsible employee, what is considered sexual misconduct, what consent really means, how to report a situation and how to help victims/survivors. Bring your questions and don’t be afraid to ask!
