About this Event
Learn about the history and current uses of psychedelics in medical, mental health and religious contexts. Explore the surprising benefits of psychedelics as psychedelic therapies are beginning to gain recognition through medical and university research.

Week 2: Disney's Snow White interpreted with Stanislav Grof's map of the human mind.
Week 3: Hofmann's Potion, video of LSD’s discoverer and things that followed.
Week 4: (tentative) Live interview with religious scholar(s), with emphasis on the ancient Near East.
Convener: LLI member Tom Robert's psychedelic publications span medicine, religion, and bridging the sciences-humanities gap. He taught Psychedelic Studies, the world's first interdisciplinary psychedelics course, in NIU's Honors Program from 1982 to 2012. Tom has spoken at conferences from northern Finland to southern Australia, from Iceland to Brazil, and he also originated the celebration of Bicycle Day (April 19) to honor the day that Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann discovered LSD's psychoactive effects.
