LLI: Abe Lincoln and Friends
This four-session class will introduce attendees to an assortment of Abe Lincoln’s friends, family members and political associates. Most pre-date his time in the Executive Mansion. No doubt some of these interesting people will be new to you. Each person is represented by an original document – some over 200 years old – signed and written by these persons, and each leads us into a fascinating story.
Convener: Al Ottens is a Civil War buff and previous convener who has shared his knowledge and artifacts with us on several occasions.
The NIU Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI), established in 2000, is a member-directed group of individuals primarily age 50 plus who enjoy learning in informal, flexible, non-competitive groups and like connecting with peers who share their interests.
