LGBTQ YA Novels and “Age Appropriate” Curriculum (Dr. Corrine Wickens)
LGBTQ+ young adult (YA) literature plays a critical role in the development of individuals finding themselves, exploring the world around them, and finding that they are not alone. Please join CSWGS’s inaugural faculty fellow Dr. Corrine Wickens, as she discusses her research of mapping different discourses on gender, sexuality, and the construction of childhood across over 50 award willing young adult novels. This in-person event will discuss practical elements around implementing quality YA literature into the K-12 classroom.
Faculty, staff, and students welcome. Please register here, by April 3rd: https://niu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eX8M6V1IBqhlrdY
