Int’l Speaker Conversation Series: Blue Nippon: Authenticating Jazz in Japan

Dr. E. Taylor Atkins is Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Distinguished Teaching Professor of History at Northern Illinois University. His scholarship encompasses modern Japanese and Korean cultural history, ethnomusicology, transnational popular culture, public memory, colonialism and nationalism. He is considered a pioneer in "New Jazz Studies" for his efforts to internationalize jazz historiography.
