Visiting painter/collagist Ann Toebbe will share detailed aspects of her unusual and complex portraiture work from 6 to 7 p.m. in Altgeld 125. This lecture is open to all, and you do not need to register to listen to the talk.

Toebbe will then lead a hands-on workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. in which participants will use quick sketches, photos and written descriptions to create an interior that stands out in their memory. Artists will be encouraged to use a multi-view approach to inventory as much of the space as possible while also finding ways to use a combination of drawing, painting and collage to simplify the architecture and objects.

The workshop portion of this event is limited to 16 participants. Preregistration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 15. Registration is important so we can be sure we have enough materials for all participants.
