International Recognition Reception

This is an International Education Week event.  

The International Recognition Reception honors individuals in the NIU community for their contributions and achievements in international education during the past year.

Remarks at 12:30 p.m. Light refreshments served.

"50 Years of International Excellence” is the theme for this year’s International Education Week on campus, which begins Monday, November 18 and runs through Friday, November 22.
Sponsored by the Division of International Affairs, International Education Week draws attention to NIU’s increasing strides towards internationalization at NIU. This year’s theme celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Division of International Affairs.
International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. Their goal is to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences. (https://iew.state.gov/)

Recognition is planned for:

  • Outstanding International Educator

  • Outstanding Department Contribution to International Education at NIU

  • Outstanding Student Contribution to International Education at NIU (for a domestic student)
