About this Event
Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Location: Microsoft TEAMS
This workshop is a part of the new campus-wide workforce professional development series that aims to support positive and effective working relationships within the workplace and across the university.
We are kicking off this new series with Lisa King, CHANCE Program Associate Director, and Brian Smith, Director of the Employee Assistance Program at NIU. Lisa and Brian will assist participants with exploring how we communicate with one another at work and the impact our communication styles have on our decision-making and the overall workplace morale. Participants will be encouraged to reflect upon characteristics of effective and inclusive communication and will learn how to use caring and compassionate language with both ourselves and others.
This 90-minute virtual workshop will overlap with the traditional lunch hour. If desired, participants may bring their lunch to this Lunch and Learn style virtual workshop.
