About this Event
Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
In part 1 of this series, Dr. April Baker-Bell introduced the linguistic justice framework and we examined the ways that our implicit and explicit value-judgements about language and identity can create barriers to student retention and academic success. In part 2, which will be held in-person on NIU's main campus in DeKalb, faculty in the NIU Department of English will guide you through activities to review and revise course policies, writing assignments, and assessment tools with a linguistic justice lens. Registration at part 1 is encouraged but not required to participate in part 2. Register Now!
