As the proud home of a significant number of first-generation college students, NIU is joining universities across the country to celebrate first-gen students with a series of events which include a fireside chat at the Holmes Student Center across from the bookstore on the mainfloor. On Wednesday, November 9, at 6 p.m., NIU staff, faculty and students will gather to share their stories of being a first-generation college students and build community. Hot Chocolate and Cookies will be provided.
