About this Event
The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering invite you to a seminar by Dr. Timothy Greene from Western Michigan University. Register today.
Your personal leadership characteristics, values, and style are part of what will define your effectiveness as a leader. Together, your characteristics, values and style provide the framework and structure for you as a leader and manager. Characteristics are those things that are inherent to who you are that effect how you respond to leadership opportunities. Characteristics are also those things that people look for in their leaders that give them the confidence that they will be led by an ethical, principled person.
What are the characteristics that you seek in a person who will lead you? What characteristics do you already possess that will make you an outstanding leader? What characteristics do you want to develop in yourself that will help you be an outstanding leader? From this seminar, you will be better able to identify the characteristics that will make you an outstanding leader.
Values, your morale compass, drive the decisions you make as a leader. While, this seminar will not prescribe appropriate values for a leader, hopefully you will be better equipped to identify what your values currently are.
Finally, every leader has a style. You have seen a wide range of leadership styles in the leaders you admire and those you might not admire. From this seminar, hopefully you will be able to identify a leadership style you want to emulate. With a better understanding of your characteristics, values, and desired style, you can develop a plan to become an outstanding leader.
