Vice + Virtue explores the dynamics of “deadly sins” and “heavenly virtues” as seen through the eyes of a multitude of visual artists. Objects include a giant leather bound edition of Dante’s Inferno, old master prints, contemporary art, “outsider” art and popular culture from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Specific artists include Albrecht Dürer, William Hogarth, Otto Dix, Warrington Colescott, Phyllis Bramson, Sue Coe, Tom Huck and the reverend Howard Finster. Curated by NIU Art Museum Assistant Director Peter Olson. The NIU Art Museum is located in Altgeld Hall, first floor, west end of the building.
