About this Event
The state of Illinois requires NIU employees to complete online ethics and sexual misconduct training every year. This year's training will run from October 10-November 11. You'll receive an email in your NIU email account when the training period opens. You'll complete the training in Blackboard and is available 24/7.
The Office of Executive Inspector General oversees compliance with this requirement. If you don't comply, you'll be reported to the state and receive a notification from the university. You may be subject to fines and disciplinary action.
Unless you're on FMLA or disability during the training period, you must complete the training. This includes:
- Civil service.
- Supportive professional staff.
- Faculty and instructors.
- Student employees, graduate assistants and teaching assistants.
- Adjunct faculty and instructors.
- Employees on leave, including sabbaticals, educational and unpaid.
- Extra help and temporary employees.
If you were hired or processed after the training date opens, you may not have access to the training and should have completed trainings administered through onboarding.
