Engaged Learning, Teaching, and Scholarship Conference
The Engaged Learning, Teaching, and Scholarship Conference, 'Celebrating High Impact Learning at NIU', is free and open to the entire NIU Community. The goal of this conference is to share best practices and celebrate the many ways that faculty and staff collaborate with partners and engage students using high-impact pedagogies and experiences. Conference sessions will focus on the practice and experience of engaged learning and teaching, in addition to the mutual benefits that result when academic scholars and institutions thoughtfully engage with local, regional/state, national and global communities. Engaged learning may take the form of undergraduate research, service-learning, project- or problem-based learning, or other innovative practices. In addition, sessions can focus on practical ways that community engagement, reciprocity and mutual benefits are obtained through strategic partnerships that result in positive economic or social benefits. Proposals that include any combination of these practices are also encouraged.
