Lifelong Learning Institute: Election Year Politics: 2020 Edition
Thursday, November 5, 2020 10 AM to 11 AM
About this Event
There were the usual — and unusual — primaries and conventions, but this election year is truly unique, thanks to COVID-19. We’ll start with a look back at the campaign season to date and then focus on this fall’s events. We’ll take a look at some of the more interesting and competitive congressional and gubernatorial races around the country, as well as the presidential race. What are the issues and who are the personalities getting attention? Who and what should be getting attention? What are the big issues? Where do our states stand with voter registration and mail-in voting? How are rallies and debates handled? Our last class meeting will be devoted to election results and analysis. Those who participated in previous election study groups know that they turned out to be much more interesting and much more fun than even the conveners expected.
Conveners: Elizabeth Bass and Carol Zar are self-described political junkies and experienced LLI conveners. They have led an elections study group every other fall since 2010.
