Dyketactics and Beyond: Queer Youth Activism in the 1970s
Amanda Littauer Ph.D. (she/her)
Associate Professor
History & Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
In the years before Gay/Straight Alliances, hotlines, or the internet, how did queer girls and gender nonconforming youth advocate for themselves and one another? In this talk, Dr. Littauer will discuss the voices and impact of teens who managed to break through silencing and isolation, insisting on their right to connection, education, resources, and self-determination.
