About this Event
When we face challenges with other people, sometimes it can be helpful to have a third person in the middle to mediate. But when is that really worthwhile? Are there any benefits, and will it really help? How should you take it if someone asks to mediate something? Who is available to mediate, and whose side is that person on? Should it be seen as a punishment or threat when someone says they are calling in a mediator?
In this interactive workshop learn the ins and outs of mediation, what it is and what it isn’t, when it can be helpful, how it works, and how it works at NIU. Join us with your burning questions! Presented by Sarah Klaper, University Ombudsperson
