Critically Appraised Topics in Social Communication Disorders Poster Conference
This course will demonstrate how evidence, family values and clinical expertise intertwine in 19 different clinical case studies. Participants will be provided with concise summaries of current empirical literature on a variety of assessment, intervention and professional topics in social communication disorders.
What will I learn by participating in this course?
By attending this course, participants will be able to:
- Assess the quality of evidence when evaluating empirical literature.
- Integrate research, family values and clinical expertise during clinical decision-making.
- Describe current research trends in a variety of topics related to social communication disorders.
Who is presenting this course?
Individual case studies will be led by Northern Illinois University Speech-Language Pathology graduate students under the supervision of Allison Gladfelter, Ph.D., CCC-SLP. Allison Gladfelter, Ph.D. is a full-time, salaried employee at Northern Illinois University. She has no other financial or nonfinancial relationships to disclose. Schedule
- Noon Arrival and Introductions.
- 12:05 - 1:15 p.m. Presentation of 10 Case Studies and Application of EBP.
- 1:15 - 1:25 p.m. Break.
- 1:25 - 2:35 p.m. Presentations of Nine Case Studies and Application of EBP.
- 2:35 - 2:45 p.m. Final Remarks and Learning Outcome Self-Assessments Collected.
