After a number of controversial decisions involving abortion, guns and religion, the Supreme Court's public approval rating is in deep decline. Influential politicians, scholars and activists have called for reforming and challenging the court in novel and — to some — frightening ways. How should law teachers, law students, practicing lawyers and ordinary people think about all of this? Is the court behaving in a historically unusual way, or much as it always has? To what extent is the Constitution responsible for the court's behavior? How should those who want to change that behavior go about doing so?
