Outreach, Engagement and Partnerships: Lessons Vital to Universities in a Post-Pandemic World
Professor Barrie P. Bode, Ph.D., NIU Department of Biological Sciences
Distinguished Engagement and Partnerships Professor, 2023
Barrie Bode has spent his career doing research on cancer biology. In response to the pandemic, Professor Bode’s community engagement and partnerships linked cancer education with an innovative campus wastewater surveillance testing program developed and still underway at NIU. The testing program's subsequent expansion provides exemplars for university-community collaboration, sustainability and evolution in a rapidly changing world.
