Today is the last chance to view the exhibition "through every fiber" at the Pick Museum of Anthropology! This exhibit, curated with students in the Museum Studies Certificate and museum interns, explores nine textile-making practices from communities around the world – pounded bark cloth from Tonga, clothing by Maya weavers in Guatemala, reverse appliqué by Guna artists in Panama, blankets and rugs by Navajo weavers, sequined banners from Haiti, batik and ikat textiles from Indonesia and Malaysia, raffia cloth by Kuba makers in the Democratic Republic of Congo and embroidery from the midwestern United States.

Each section offers a glimpse into the processes, technologies, and resulting products within these diverse practices. The exhibit also highlights textile makers who are impacting their communities by addressing social, economic, or environmental issues through their work. As processes change, technologies are adapted, and innovative textiles are produced, these individuals and organizations are shaping their communities through their crafts – one fiber at a time.
