Celebration of Neurodiversity: Resource and Activity Fair
Tuesday, November 19, 2024 5 PM to 6:30 PM
About this Event
600 Lucinda Ave, DeKalb, IL 60115
Join us before Temple Grandin’s public lecture for a resource fair to celebrate and support the many kinds of neurodiversity in our community.
Do you know there are resources available to support NIU students and community members who are neurodivergent, and their families? Meet representatives from many different NIU departments and community organizations to learn more.
Get information, participate in hands-on activities and meet others in the community. Activities will be available for all ages — from preschool through college — and they include hands-on art projects, sensory bins and books related to neurodiversity from the NIU Libraries and DeKalb Public Library.
We’re still connecting with other partners! So far, our NIU and community partners include:
- NIU Autism Caregivers Group.
- NIU School of Art and Design.
- NIU Libraries.
- RAMP Disability Resources and Services.
- Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association.
- Westside Children’s Therapy.
After the resource fair, don’t miss a free public talk by Temple Grandin at 6:30 p.m. Space is limited. Register today.
